sticky: traditional hand-made yummy

Bumped into Kellye Tan's photos on Facebook moments ago...

I assumed these handmade rock candy are only available in Australia when I read an article about it few years back. Thanks to Kellye, as she told me it's already available at One Utama. About the pricing, smallest package size cost around RM13, depending on the flavours, package sizes/weights and optional accessories.

Just checked out sticky.com.my but it's still under construction. Perhaps sticky.com.sg can resist your craving for a second...just a second before you go grab a bag for yourself in store!

Mysterious Ruby

Remember the cute little necklace Chiaki presented to Nodame in the Nodame Cantabile New Year's Special in Europe? I finally found it at Star Jewelry of Japan! Priced at ¥49,350,  equivalent to RM1856.69 using the currency exchange rate conversion calculator at coinmill.com, I think it's still affordable...I'm so into it!

In fact, besides this, all designs by Star Jewelry are just awesome! The necklaces, rings, earrings, everything...
Even the interior design of their shops are so elegant. I wish I can be there someday, browsing through their entire collections and pick up a few back to Malaysia. Let's make this a five-year goal, perhaps?

Mameshiba 豆しば

Stumbled upon this cute little fellow while I was on YouTube...and my heart melted~

Is it a soy bean? Or is it a dog? It’s not exactly either. It’s a very strange, but very cute creature that has the body of a bean and the face of a dog. It’s called Mameshiba. The Mameshiba family is made up of over 20 members-Green Peas, Black Bean, Peanut, Natto, Edamame, Red Bean, Sweet Beans, Coffee Beans, Cashew Nut, Jelly Beans, Chickpea, Sword Bean, Boiled Bean, Chili Bean, Tiger Bean, Soybean, Pistachio, Lentil, Fava Bean and Cocoa Bean. They have angelic faces and sweet voices, but the stories they tell will spoil any listener’s appetite...For instance, they might surprise you with a phrases such as this one: “Did you know? Breast milk tastes different at the beginning and at the end of a breast feeding session.”

Watch the full series of Mameshiba Video Shorts and check out the Mameshiba Characters right now! I'm kinda addicted to it and how I wish to own a Mameshiba Charms as well~

Moon Cakes Madness 2010

Should have post this last week while I just bought some moon cakes at Queensbay Mall. Too busy or lazy huh? It's been the 2nd year I'm away from home during Mid Autumn Festival. Yet there'll be 2 more years to go...Life's tough! So, I grabbed moon cakes back here to relief my melancholy during this desolate festive season in Parit Raja. Appreciate the designers' efforts as moon cakes' packaging are getting more attractive and detailed every year with  improved textures plus chunky accessories. You can say that I craved more for the colourful boxes rather than the moon cake itself. However, I just try out these new flavours...AWESOME but  definitely will gain some weight later >_<

Mini chestnut moon cake by 手信坊, a brand from Taiwan

Espresso Chestnut, Casahana

Azuki Milk, Casahana

Green Tea Azuki, Casahana (comes with the box)

Pink: Complimentary with every 2 moon cakes purchased.
Red: Comes with selected flavours. A collection of 5 different colours with 5 different flavours.

Buka Puasa Buffet @ Parit Raja Kopitiam

Bulan Ramadhan seems like a great month for us to go for buffet...Malay restaurants all over Parit Raja such as Parit Raja Kopitiam, D'impian Kopitiam, Bisik-bisik & Serambi Rasa are offering buka puasa buffet promotion at affordable prices ranging from RM9.76-19.00. Eventually, we went to try out the one at Parit Raja Kopitiam (RM9.76) last Thursday & it was kinda disappointing. The food was okay but the quantity was not really enough to cater for buffet. They were offering less than 10 dishes and there were no replenishment, which means once finish, that's all!

Luckily, the PIC explained to us later that they were not preparing much dishes to avoid wastage due to the lack of walked-in customers. He suggested that we may make reservations in advance so that he can estimate the amount of food to be prepared. Upon finishing the main course, we took revenge by having bowls & bowls of ice-cream...COOL~

Aww...♥ the curry puff

Can't go anywhere without my buddies

Pity nia...so-called buffet =_=

Bubur Pulut Hitam

Stomach growling again...ishh. Next post will be featuring our buka puasa buffet experiences at Serambi Rasa. Stay tuned!

Money Not Enough

Moved out from Perwira Hostel, my new rent house in Taman Kelisa is no doubt a better place to stay at for the next three years.
Spacious, clean, airy, nearer to the main road...
Overall, I'm more than satisfied and appreciate it very much.
However, money are flowing away like tap water, though it was just two weeks away from the beginning of this semester.
Sharing a 2nd hand fridge and washing machine with six other housemates costed me RM93.
RM79 for new MIS reference book, RM55 for 2nd hand manufacturing book and more yet to come...
What about my daily expenses on food and those miscellaneous items?
I do make simple account on a daily basis to track my expenses since last year.
Reviewing my spending recently, the figures are really freaking me off!
What to do?
This might be a transition period and I'm trying to cut down my spending by having dinner at home these few days.
But still it's not free.
It's prepaid expenses as I spent >RM30 to stock up some groceries at Pacific last Saturday.
Perhaps I should try to earn some money instead of saving.
I've tried YouthSays and Google Adsense.
Few days back, I received an email from Google stating that my Adsense account had been disabled.
My blog can no longer display Ads by Google and all my previous earnings were forfeited.
This is not fair at all but I do admit that I tried fraud click before.
This might be a lesson for me to earn money in an ethical way.
I'm reprimanding now...

Sky; Sunset; Sea

After having an early dinner last Sunday, went for an evening walk at Jelutong Expressway seaside and get to capture these frieden sights of nature. It's been a year living and studying in Batu Pahat. One thing I liked the most are those gigantic marshmallow clouds paintings all over the blue canvas covering that dull place. This trip back in Penang, I realised we also have such nice views here, just that I seldom spent some time to appreciate it...

Kingdom of Sky

See those rocks? Should have walk down there...

Who's the naughty one who mess up the paintings? Yet it's so artistic!

From my tiny point of view...

Clouds? Splash of waves? Your says?

Clouds of clouds...weird

Beryl's Tiramisu Milk Chocolate

Hoho, went to Queensbay Jusco mini chocolate fair yesterday and bought this-Beryl's Tiramisu Milk Chocolate. My dad bought this for me few years ago but they've got new packaging this time. I love tiramisu so much. Tiramisu ice blended beverages, tiramisu cake, etc. and now, tiramisu chocolate! It's so smooth and creamy that it melts right in your mouth...One important fact about chocolate is never keep it in the refrigerator. Room temperature is just nice and adequate to maintain the chocolate original texture.

I'm quite choosey when come to chocolate. Cadbury is a common choice. Beryl's is another local brand that I'm kinda addicted and would not hesitate to recommend to my family and friends. If happens that next time you saw the chocolate in any supermart, do grab a box and try it out, then spread the news!

Cracked Egg Shell

I was picking some eggs,
Examined each and every single one thoroughly.
The shell should be clean and perfect,
Without nasty stains nor cracks.

I had selected some eggs,
Which I thought were fine.
Bought it home and guess what I found?
It's all cracked!

What had happened I wondered...
Am I the one to be blamed?
For being clumsy, reckless and foolish.
Or it's just something that I missed out earlier?

Egg shell must not be cracked,
To prevent the invasion of bacteria.
Just like any relationship,
Must not even have a single ugly blot.

Somehow some people are nasty-nice
That's the kind of people we should avoid.

New Blood Perhaps?

I hate this, I hate this, I HATE this!!!
Why are we the one who always have to bear the responsibility?
Do you still remember tomorrow is the due date for our I/O assignment?
And it's not yet done!
Where are you now?
Slacking in BP Mall?
Immersing in the warmth and sweetness of being back in hometown?
It's our marks, and what make us deserve to have your trust on us?
I feel like letting go, really...and let it be.
I'm tired, stressful and exhausted.
1st sem, 2nd sem, hopefully not next.
I want a person to take up the responsibilities.
I'm always a good follower, if you deserve my respect...
When we get closer to each other, I realized that it's hard for you to follow instructions.
Nor to get your basic part done.
Why not we insert some new blood next time?

20th Birthday...A Special One

Just walked back from UTHM & reached Perwira 30 mins ago...oh yea, I WALKED back. Seminar Pengurusan Organisasi (SPO) was over finally. Felt upset simply because I don't have my own car, not the first time though...walking along the road, tears rolling in my eyes, while trying to think of something positive, my mind can't stop thinking nonsense. Those vehicles are speeding passed me at 90km/j. Can you feel the terrifying forces that pat on your face? I was thinking if one of them could have knock on me, I won't be here anymore!

Fine. Now is 11:13pm. Everything is getting better. Should I mention that today is my birthday? Had a satisfying chicken meal just now...& also a very special birthday "cake" (spring chicken) with continuous litting candles, interesting!

Thanks to Ah Lai, Ah Fern, Audrey & Ser Pei for celebrating my first birthday here, away from family & hometown. Also thanks to a whole bunch of friends who wished me through sms, on facebook & sang birthday song for me (the list are loooong). I can said that I received the most wishes this year. Afterall, I've been here for 2 decades (so old)...

Actually I'm kinda sleepy while writing this. Tired is the only word, physically & mentally overwhelming me. I need to rest now, really...

I Care That You Don't Care

Actually, this is a direct translation of "我在意你的不在意"-my status on Facebook. It had been reflecting my feelings recently. Somehow trusting a person for once is innocent, but trusting the person for twice is STUPID. I was so desperate when involved in that programme last year, though there are still some nice memories and great experience. I was wondering what make me stay? During that time when I selected the position of Vice President due to limited choices, I was thinking that this might serve as a good opportunity for me to learn more from you. However, I was being promoted to the President right after this as you withdrawn yourself from the current position and became the so-called advisor. What the heck is this? I had been cheated...Great responsibilities come with high position. All of a sudden you throw everything to me, I have been buried, left with no space to breathe. You promised that you will assist me, but I can't feel that you care about this.

*You guys always keep secret, I don't know what's your next step...

Why are you doing this? If you said we are a team...

Don't left me alone in the darkness, Straying around, Clueless...

I don't like to be abandoned...

What will you do? If you are in my situation...*

New Year’s Resolutions

New Year's resolutions...Came across this few days ago while doing surveys on YouthSays website. Ok...I have to admit that this is something new to me. Talk about wants, desires, wishes, I have lots of them every year. It's more on the material aspects. For instance, I want a trip to Taiwan, I want the latest model of Sony Ixus camera series, etc. As for New Year's resolutions, we are supposed to set goals targeting on self-improvement, and work really hard to get there. Commitment, passion and determination are the key factors of success. It's a norm for Americans to make New Year's resolutions every New Year's Eve. For me, this is the very first time I'm trying to make three resolutions of my own:
  1. Score GPA >3.5 to get into the Dean List
  2. Be part of the team in SIFE National Cup Competition
  3. Be more outgoing & confident to speak up
To achieve 1, I have to study hard & get some luck. I did it last sem, how about this sem?
To achieve 2, I have to participate actively in SIFE-related activities. When you show up more, people will know you more.
To achieve 3, I'm doing this right now & I noticed some changes in myself. But I want MORE!!!
By chance, if all of the above are being fulfilled, it'll give me great happiness & satisfaction.

We'll see the results at the end of 2010...Cheers!

1st Day of 2010

Aren't today should be a public holiday? Not for Johor definitely...we still have to attend classes today. Went to Kluang with my gang right after the 3 hours HR Management class ended. Somehow this time when we decided to go there, we just go for it without any planning. Previously, we planned to go to Genting but end up everyone went home. So, it is useless to plan everything ahead if your passion to carry it out gets faded off easily. This is my 2nd trip to Kluang since the last time we served our moral community project there. Like this place quite a lot as I feel familiar with it, especially when I get to explore the surrounding on foot, you will remember every corner better for sure! Had my very first bowling game @ Kluang Parade. Not bad la, at least I striked once (not to mention the numerous time when the ball went into the drain)! By the way, what will you think if I say that I've never been to karaoke, clubbing etc. at this age? Hmm...who cares? I just don't feel like interested in such activities. I'm now involving in those activities which I think is more beneficial as I get to develop myself and also widen my horizons. In fact, I still have lots more to share but I think that's all for today as I have to proceed with my work on LDE. We still have a few problems yet to be settled. Response of participants is the part I concerned and worried the most. However, I'm so grateful that all our CMs are so committed. Thank you guys! Hopefully we all are able to collaborate well with each other in overcoming those problems and what we can do now is pray for its success...
